How GAI Game Lesson Development Works

When you work with GAI you’ll be working with a team whose members have been in the games industry for over 20 years and have developed and taught game sound in schools for nearly a decade.

The game project itself is where the process starts, and not just any game will do. Besides looking cool and being fun to play, it has to be a game project that can teach specific game audio concepts and is paced and sized appropriately for the students so that they can complete it within a set amount of classroom time. Additionally, we are socially conscious and work with a diverse group of students, from high school to adult learners.

The audio system for each game lesson needs to be designed in a logical, well-understood way that amplifies key concepts. We like to show students how the interaction works under the hood without drowning them in mountains of technical coding and scripting. Once we have achieved this balance, we then exhaustively document the design and implementation process so that nothing is left to chance. We also create teacher versions of each lesson, content complete with everything wired up, so that teachers can utilize these concepts comfortably and efficiently in a classroom setting.
