SAN FRANCISCO, CA March XX, 2022—The Game Audio Institute (GAI) today announced that it is joining Nickelodeon Digital, Zynga, The MIDIA Association, and other industry notables for the 28th annual Interactive Audio Special Interest Group (IASIG) Town Hall, an exclusive GDC 2022 event, March 24th, 2022, 12:45pm

The announcement comes on the heels of GAI’s recent expansion of its digital course offerings to allow students anywhere in the United States to tap into the educational upstart’s decade of success preparing the next generation of interactive audio professionals for award-winning careers at PlayStation, Riot Games, Disney, and Skywalker Sound. The curriculum expansion includes a new AR/VR course, along with Patreon community, game lessons, and more.  

“We have been looking forward to this moment for a long time,” said Steve Horowitz, Audio Director, Nickelodeon Digital & IASIG, as well as Co-Founder of GAI. “Between what has been happening in the world and developments within the industry, we are overdue for a deep discussion on the latest and greatest workflows, along with the challenges of educating and empowering the next generation.” 

Now in its 28th year, the IASIG Town Hall allows game audio educators, sound designers, composers, audio programmers, and other audio professionals to get an update on current IASIG efforts, and share their ideas, suggestions, and recommendations for improving the state of the art in audio for interactive media.
